If you don’t want to link your accounts, here is the resource I mentioned. Basically you download a transaction file from your bank and then upload that file to YNAB. YNAB is smart and it won’t double enter transactions. This process really only adds a tiny bit of time once you get the hang of it, but I think linked accounts definitely make using YNAB more sustainable and enjoyable. Some people who do very little spending or have serious problems with overspending also manually enter each transaction as it happens. This can bring even more awareness to your spending habits.
